Co-Op Community Supports Local Charities
We were delighted to receive a cheque for over £1800 from the Co-Op Community Fund recently.
Along with 2 other local good causes, Just Drop In and Space4Autism, The Rossendale Trust were chosen as beneficiaries of the fund. Over the last year, Co-Op members have been choosing their cause and every time they have shopped at their local store, a donation has been made to the charity, as well as earning rewards for themselves.
The money that we have received from the generosity of the Co-Op members will fund another year of multi- sports activities which run as part of our Oakwood activities timetable. These sessions are run in conjunction with the Macclesfield Community Sports Trust and are a very popular choice for people who use our day services.
Sue Heaven, Head of P.R & Fundraising, thanked all who had contributed explaining “This donation will make a huge difference to the people who attend our activity groups. Many come to socialise and the groups give them an opportunity to come together with friends in a fun environment. The multi-sports activity is popular with many people who use Oakwood and is of huge benefit to both their physical and mental health and well being.”
It has been a real pleasure to work with our local Co-Op colleagues over the last year and highlight to their members what wonderful work our local charities do.
