We have launched our EdenDale Project, our biggest to date. We are hoping to raise £180,000 to build a new lodge with accessible toilet and changing facilities in the grounds of Rossendale Hall as well as improving our pool area to make a beautiful, tranquil space for everyone to enjoy.
Our Oakwood Activity Service offers a wide range of activities to people with learning disabilities and is used not only by our tenants but also be the wider community. A number of groups currently meet in temporary building in the grounds of Rossendale Hall. Over the years this has become weathered and largely unsuitable and unable to meet the demands of the people who attend. This building is in dire need of a replacement.
With your support, we plan to build a new lodge which will be bigger than the current building and allow for more people to attend our services.
As equally as important will be the addition of a new, state of the art fully accessible toilet with adult changing facilities. This is something we don’t currently have and it will be a very welcome addition to our facilities making them more accessible to people from the wider community.
Significant improvements to the grounds and pond area, creating pathways and making the area more accessible to people who use our service, will also be made.
A more tranquil, relaxing and welcoming environment for everyone will be created. We plan to dredge the current pool and then create a beautiful planting scheme surrounding this where we can have seating areas for both tenants and visitors to enjoy time outdoors.
As you can imagine, all this comes at a high cost. We need to raise £180,000 so please join us and get involved with all our fundraising activities!
