Shine A Light Festival Illuminates Macclesfield with Community Spirit
The Rossendale Trust’s first-ever Shine A Light Festival, held on Saturday 12 July at Victoria Park, Macclesfield, was a glowing success—bringing together hundreds of people for a day of music, fun, and community celebration.
Organised in partnership with Space 4 Autism, the free-entry festival featured a packed schedule of live performances, family-friendly activities, artisan stalls, and delicious food. Acts lit up the stage and beyond the stage, the park buzzed with activity. Children enjoyed inflatable games, sports, and circus-skills workshops, while adults explored artisan stalls and indulged in delicious offerings from local vendors
The festival also provided a platform for local charities including Just Drop In, Smile, Macclesfield Community Tree Nursery, and ArtSpace.
“The atmosphere was incredible,” said Sue Heaven, Head of PR & Fundraising at the Trust “The whole community came out in support, and we are so proud to have created such a special day for everyone.”
The Trust wishes to extend its thanks to headline sponsor Jordan Fishwick Estate Agents, as well as Macclesfield Town Council, GEC Home Improvements, and the many volunteers, performers, and stallholders who made the day possible.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback, the Trust is already exploring plans to make Shine A Light a regular summer tradition in Macclesfield.
