The Rossendale Trust summer fete
The Rossendale Summer Fete is always one of the great family days of the year, and this year will be no exception. On August 6th friends, families, tenants and staff will enjoy the traditional pleasures of cream teas; a prize raffle; a beer tent; barbecue; ice creams; live music, plus many stalls and attractions.
Many of the tenants from across the Trust will also be there to enjoy the day. And as well as being a great social event the fete is also a vital fundraiser for the Trust. Last year’s fete raised more than £8,500 for the tenants’ activity fund, which was used to enable the people cared for by the Trust to live more independently.
The fete is also the day of the year when all of the supporters of the Trust gather in the gardens at Rossendale Hall and catch up on the news. Based in Sutton, the Trust has been a key part of the local community since the organisation was founded in the 1970s, and there will be many local friends of the Trust present.
Sue Heaven said, ‘We are really looking forward to the fete this year, with lots of stalls and attractions for all the family it promises to be one our best! Wincle Brewery have created a very special ale for us which will be on sale and a BBQ by our long time supporters Brown and White catering. Come along and enjoy the day with us”.
Hope you can all come and enjoy our great day on the 6th of August from 12 to 4pm.
