Parachuting for the Trust
Two supporters of the Rossendale Trust took on the challenge of a lifetime recently by throwing themselves out of a plane, with parachutes of course! Raising over £1500.
Mark and Kelly wanted to do something a bit different, they thought parachuting might inspire people to sponsor them to help the charity they felt close to. Hurling yourself out of an aeroplane above the Cheshire plains at 10, 000ft? Hurtling to the ground at 125mph! Oh and Kelly is afraid of heights…..how would that not inspire a donation?
Mark Shelley said, ‘It was my pleasure to do the jump for the Rossendale Trust, what an experience! It was lovely meeting the care support workers and the fantastic Trust tenants’.
Sue Heaven (Head of PR and Fundraising at the Rossendale Trust) said, ‘This is a great effort by Mark and Kelly, their funds will make a real difference to the people we support. It can’t be easy to throw yourself out of plane!’
